Dr. Sterling Wall with his wife Natalie is a parent of 5 children, 3.5 grandchildren, and has been a foster father to over 20 children in the last 12 years. Graduating from Auburn University with his Ph.D. in Human Development and Famly Studies in 2003 he has taught 21 years at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in the Family & Consumer Sciences Department, developing their Child Life Specialist track barely 3 years ago. A big believer in preparing students for the diverse world around them he has led service learning trips to special needs orphanages in Oaxaca, Mexico, Romania, and helped his students organize summer style camps for children on the Lakota Reservation in La Plant, South Dakota.
Dr. Wall has hosted at least 10 student and state conferences, 2 national conferences, and he and his students have facilitated speed mentoring sessions for at 7 of the National Council on Family Relations annual conferences. It is LOUD, FAST, and FUN and he and his students look forward to introducing this fast paced way to connect at the Annual Child Life Conference as ACLP continues to take significant steps forward to support, enhance, and involve students at all levels of the child life journey.
