Keri Walko-Henry is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR), Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ithaca College and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy & Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University.
Keri started her career as the Children's Program Coordinator at a hospice bereavement center, then transitioned to home-based pediatric palliative care. After a personal experience as a parent to a pre-term child, she advocated for family-centered care and worked on quality improvement initiatives as a March of Dimes NICU Family Support Program Coordinator, and later as a Manager of NICU Family Support.
Keri currently is the child life specialist co-lead for Kid's Comfort Promise, an initiative to improve the needlestick experience for all pediatric patients throughout UMass Memorial Health Children's Medical Center, a regional medical center in central Massachusetts. Additionally, Keri works as a mental health counselor at an Early Intervention program, where she leads infant parent-child groups and provides art therapy and developmental support to families.
Keri is also a guest lecturer in the psychology department at Ithaca College, presenting on both prenatal/infant development and children's understanding of death.
