Hannah Knott, MS, CCLS, CTRP-C is an Assistant Professor of Child Life at Azusa Pacific University. Hannah began her child life journey as a volunteer at Valley Children's Hospital in Central California, and completed her master's degree in child life at University of La Verne. After a practicum at City of Hope National Medical Center and an internship at Children's Hospital Orange County, Hannah worked at Children's Hospital Los Angeles where she contributed to a multi-disciplinary initiative to improve the care environment for children with autism and sensory needs. From there, Hannah had the opportunity to introduce child life services to several areas of Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA, where she built a child life volunteer program as well as graduate and undergraduate practicums. After designing and teaching the first ever Introduction to Child Life course at California State University, Fresno, Hannah fell in love with teaching and pursued her current position with Azusa Pacific University. Recently, Hannah designed a course focused on supporting children with special needs in healthcare settings. Through her various roles, Hannah has directly supervised over 50 practicum and internship students. Hannah is currently completing her Ph.D and studying pathways to success for online learners.
