Belinda is a Certified Child Life Specialist who co-developed the Child Life graduate program at EWU, and currently advises and teaches for the graduate and undergraduate programs in Child Life and Health, including her Hybrid Child Life Community Practicum. Belinda has her EdD in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Social Justice, her MS in Sports & Health Science, her MA in Educational Psychology and her BA in Child Development. Belinda completed her Child Life Fieldwork at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA and her Child Life Internship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA), and has practiced as a Certified Child Life Specialist at both Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (CA) and Kaiser Permanente (CA). Belinda is the founder of Child Life Connection (http://childlifeconnection.com), a consulting service supporting pediatric care providers in the Tri-Counties (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties) and beyond, and serves as a Board Member for the Oscar Litwak Foundation (http://oscarlitwakfoundation.com) who donates mobile playrooms to pediatric providers to ensure children receiving medical care have the opportunity to play during their hospital stays. Belinda now serves as an advisory board member for Child Life On Call, and is honored to be part of such an incredible program bringing child life supports to children and families both in the hospital and beyond. In her free time, Belinda enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, 3 children (Brittany, Justin, and Rebecca), grandson (Jonathan) and a German Shephard puppy (Callie).
