Cara Sisk, PhD, CCLS (she/her/hers)

Cara has eleven years of clinical experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist working with children and families in pediatric healthcare. A career transition to academics has been an excellent fit for her strengths educating people and sharing the mission of child life. As the Child Life Program Director and a tenured Assistant Professor at Tennessee Technological University, Cara enjoys her role teaching in higher education to prepare child life students. Cara holds a Ph.D. in Exceptional Learning with a concentration in Young Children and Families. She has conducted both quantitative and qualitative research with her dissertation research focused on the healthcare experiences of children with special health care needs and disabilities.
