Aileen has been a certified child life specialist for the last 7 years. She began her work as a child life specialist in community based private practice, and later joined a county hospital where she has been working for almost 3 years supporting patients in various settings. Aileen earned her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University in 2002. Aileen brings a unique perspective to trauma from her own experiences as a parent of a chronically ill child who was diagnosed, treated for, and subsequently died from cancer at a young age. Her hope is that medical traumatic stress can be recognized in the pediatric setting and continues to advocate for positive solutions to address it.
