Megan is a Certified Child Life Specialist at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. She completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, with clinical training placements at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and Children's Mercy in Kansas City, Missouri. In her graduate studies, Megan cultivated a specific interest in the unmet needs of hospitalized children in state custody and worked to bridge gaps and build partnerships with local hospitals and the Department of Child and Family Services so that best practices can be implemented for this vulnerable population. Currently, she is completing a research project on providers' perceptions of the needs of hospitalized children in state custody, the design and conduct of which informs this presentation.
