Child Life Services Coordinator

Monica Gibson, MS, CCLS is the Child Life Services Coordinator at University Health. She has graduated from Millsaps College (BS) and Sam Houston State University (MS). She has been working as a child life specialist for 15 years, and currently works in the PICU. Previously, she worked at Johns Hopkins Children's Center. She has implemented child life delirium protocols with in critical care. With her fellow presenters, she has completed a quality improvement project on delirium screening and treatment. She serves as the chair on the Child Life Certification Commission.
Jennifer Block, BSN, RN, CPN is a pediatric critical care nurse at University Health. She has 18 years of nursing experience, 10 years devoted to pediatric intensive care. Her work in the pediatric shared governance has led to multiple evidence-based quality initiatives including preventing hospital acquired infections, staff retention and satisfaction, and patient safety. Most recently she was instrumental in developing the delirium protocol, educating staff on CAPD scores, and monitoring compliance in our PICU.
Sabrina Ann Carrillo, MD, MPH, is a graduate of Texas Tech University School Of Medicine. She trained in Pediatrics at Texas Tech University in El Paso and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at UT Health San Antonio and is board certified. Dr. Carrillo started her career at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has been at UT Health San Antonio since 2017. She specializes in the diverse care of critically ill patients, including trauma, burns, liver and kidney transplants, sepsis, respiratory failure, and congenital heart disease. Her interests include quality improvement, delirium, transport medicine and simulation-based learning.
