Maria has 10 years of experience as a child life assistant working at Wonders & Worries (W&W) supporting child life staff and children and teens experiencing the illness of a parent. Maria has been in the role of Resource Navigator for 3 years supporting families with resources outside of the scope of W&W. Maria has been involved in a variety of child life settings through her volunteer work at Dell Children's Hospital, Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago, and Child Life On Call. Maria has a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. She completed her child life practicum with Wonders & Worries, and is applying for her child life internship, the next step to becoming a certified child life specialist (CCLS).
