Stephanie is the outpatient Child Life Clinical Lead at Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital, where she has worked for over 16 years, primarily supporting patients and families in pediatric radiology and also serving as a facility dog handler. She has a special interest in educating and mentoring child life students and serves as the co-coordinator for the department’s child life clinical internship. She received a BS in Human Development and Family Studies and a BS in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut and an MS in Child Life and Family-Centered Care from Wheelock College. Stephanie enjoys educating other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team and regularly provides trainings on Supporting Children with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder, the Biopsychosocial Model in Action: How to Use it to Make Things Less Painful for Everyone, and Lights, Camera, Action: Creating a Child-Friendly Environment for Pediatric Radiology Patients.
