Fairfax Davis is a Certified Child Life Specialist at Children's of Alabama. Fairfax works clinically with the inpatient rehab and epilepsy monitoring populations. Over the years, she has developed a research resume by collaborating with members of the health care team and members of academia. Her research interests include medical play and trauma informed care. Fairfax worked alongside multidiscplinary team members to create and pilot the Safe Pathway during February of 2023. This pathway's purpose is to identify triggers to decrease the stress and retraumatization of children of abuse. In addition, Fairfax coordinates student education opportunites and experiences as the practicum coordinator. Fairfax has been a member of the child life team and Family Services Department at Children's of Alabama for 7 years.
