Beyond Invisibility: Creating a Culture of SOGI Inclusion for Driving Pediatric Patient Experience

After taking this course, participants will be able to confidently demonstrate how the intersection of diverse strategies are achieving desired organization-wide results on their journey to strengthened sexual orientations and inclusion (SOGI) and better understand and meet the needs of diverse and underrepresented populations in healthcare. Participants have opportunities to rehearse conversations and practice technical skills that lead to positive and inclusive visibility for sexual and gender diverse youth building healthy clinical relationships.

  • Describe the connections between key approaches related to employee engagement and patient-centered care
  • Discuss how Interprofessional Teams collaborated to equip staff and patients for improving patient experience and outcomes
  • Initiate and execute conversations to build technical skills when inquiring patient’s sexual orientation and gender identity.
  • Identify challenges and solutions for applying these key approaches to your organization
