After becoming certified in May 2009, Katie worked as a CCLS at two different children’s hospitals in the US for 6 years. Since 2015, she has lived in several African nations, working to scale-up psychosocial care services for impoverished children and families in underdeveloped healthcare settings. She currently resides in Zambia where she is the Director of Psychosocial Services for Family Legacy Missions International, a large non-profit that provides holistic care for 14,000 orphaned and vulnerable Zambian children. Katie is passionate about global child life work and capacity-building with local staff to improve emotional and psychosocial care programming in global settings. She has served on a variety of ACLP and CLCC committees over the past 10 years.
